New Sander

January 4, 2012

Sanding the trailer to prep for painting is suppose to be a slow process, but it was taking far to long.  I was using a block sander (on the right in the picture), but this was not working.  First I tried the to get a more aggressive sandpaper, this didn’t make any noticeable difference, so to the internet.  After a little reading a dual action sander seemed to be the recommended choice.  This upgrade made a huge difference.  I can now do in 10 minutes what took 4 hours with the other sander.  With this change the boler project should start moving forward again.

The best part of a project is getting new tools to get the job done. You’ll soon find yourself looking for new projects in order to use the neat tools you’ve invested in. Once you reach the point where you need, and buy, a Milwakee “Sawzall”, there’s no stopping!

Agreed. I got a sawzall while still in high school, and made many modifications to my mini truck with it,a useful and fun tool!! I still remember when my Dad came out to the garage and I had the sawzall going through the dash of his truck for a very trick custom stereo installation, he panicked, although loved the finished product. The fun is in the custom work!
