Just the Neighbourhood Park

March 30, 2012

2009 at a local playground

I always find myself blogging about the hikes, rides and stuff we drive to do and never about the day to day.  The reality is as much fun as these adventures are we spend most of our time at local playgrounds.

We are lucky where we live as there is a long list of parks that are an easy walk form our home, and we probably average 5 or more trips to one of these parks a week.

Too often the big adventures distract us from all the small, but important moments we have as a family.  Kids know it’s all about the journey, spotting a lady bug, and for the moment it is the most important thing in the world, and the most interesting.  Everything stops and all attention is focused on this one fascinating and simple life.  All this for a detail I failed to notice, and without them to point it it out, I would never open my eyes for the next detail.

My 11 month old saw a frog for the first time last week. He was giggling so hard everytime it would hop! It was so cute and wish I would’ve had my camcorder!! So precious 🙂

Luvly! I thought the sun looked a bit unusual. It’s not this year lol! Cloverdale Athletic park has that nice big area of open space for kids. It gets crazy enough when they go to school!

Thanks. I have trouble getting the boys to play at any park that is close to the Cloverdale bike park, they always know they are close and want to go there. This area has done a great job on making sure there are so many parks around,
